Acceptance of These Terms

By booking a consultation, using the Synergy Meridian Clinic website, or receiving treatment at our Makati premises, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the following terms. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not book a consultation or use the website. These terms apply alongside our Privacy Policy and any specific written consent forms you sign as part of clinical intake.

About Our Services

Synergy Meridian Clinic provides Traditional Chinese Medicine services — acupuncture, cupping, tuina massage, guasha, and herbal consultation — adapted for adult patients with chronic musculoskeletal complaints. Our services are complementary and are not a substitute for emergency or urgent clinical medicine. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, including severe chest pain, stroke symptoms, acute severe trauma, or any life-threatening condition, please call an emergency line and proceed to the nearest hospital. Our clinic does not operate as an emergency facility.

Where your condition requires conventional medical diagnostic workup, imaging, or surgical evaluation, we will recommend the appropriate referral. We co-manage patients with their physicians rather than replacing them.

Booking & Cancellation

Consultations may be booked by phone, email, or through the contact form on this website. Confirmation is given in writing (SMS or email) and contains your appointment date, time, and the practitioner assigned.

We require a minimum of 48 hours notice for any cancellation or rescheduling of a confirmed appointment. This allows us to offer the time to other patients on the waiting list. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice, and no-shows, are subject to a late cancellation fee equal to 50% of the booked session rate. The fee is payable before any further appointments can be made.

We understand that genuine emergencies happen and will waive the fee at our discretion in such cases. Please tell us what happened; we are generally reasonable.

Payments

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Cash (Philippine Peso).
  • GCash.
  • Maya.
  • Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards, via our in-clinic terminal.
  • HMO direct-billing for accredited networks including Maxicare, Medicard, and Intellicare. Please present your membership card at check-in; coverage varies by plan.

Official receipts are issued for every paid transaction. Package rates (such as the Meridian Series and the Twelve-Week Protocol) are payable in full at the start of the package and are valid for twelve months from the date of purchase.

Client Responsibilities

For your own safety and the effectiveness of treatment, you agree to:

  • Disclose all current medical conditions, recent surgeries, and any diagnoses your physician has given you.
  • Disclose all current medications, supplements, and herbal products — including those you consider "natural" or over-the-counter.
  • Inform your practitioner of any change in your health status between visits.
  • Arrive on time; late arrival may shorten your session.
  • Treat our staff and other patients with professional courtesy. We reserve the right to decline further service for abusive or threatening behaviour.

Failure to disclose relevant health information may compromise the safety and effectiveness of treatment. We rely on your honest intake.

Health & Safety

Certain conditions require specific disclosure before treatment begins, as they influence whether, how, and where we needle, cup, or scrape:

  • Pregnancy, suspected pregnancy, or active IVF cycle. Several classical points are strictly avoided in pregnancy.
  • Anticoagulant medications — warfarin, rivaroxaban, apixaban, dabigatran, clopidogrel, or therapeutic heparin. Cupping and guasha are modified or avoided; certain herbs are contraindicated.
  • Implanted pacemakers, defibrillators, or other implanted electrical devices. Electroacupuncture is not used in patients with these devices.
  • Active infection at the site of proposed treatment, bleeding disorders, and any immunocompromised state.
  • Known allergy to metals (stainless steel in needles), herbs, or topical preparations.

We reserve the right, in our clinical judgment, to decline or modify treatment if we believe it is not safe to proceed.
